Media Coverage | Blondel Group Announces Partnership with XYZ Robotics for Rocky Robot Deployment
French logistics publication Voxlog recently reported that Blondel Group will deploy XYZ Robotics' Rocky robots at its Courcelles-lès-Lens logistics hub, becoming the first French 3PL to adopt the company's robotic solutions.
The Courcelles-lès-Lens hub mainly serves major mass retail clients. The RockyOne robot will go live at the site in summer 2026 for truck unloading. From September 2026, Blondel will also pilot RockyLight for end-of-line mixed case palletizing. The company will add a new line controller role at the site to oversee automated operations.
The deployment is part of Blondel's broader innovation drive. Its Logistics Business Unit plans to invest more than €2.5 million in new technologies across 2026 and 2027.
"Innovation, and robotics in particular, has become a strategic lever for us. It helps build a more agile, higher-performing, and more resilient logistics operation for players in the industrial and mass retail sectors," said Mathieu Menant, Head of Innovation and Continuous Improvement at Blondel's Logistics Business Unit.
"Blondel Group is our first French 3PL customer, and this partnership is a major milestone for us in this market. More projects are already in the pipeline. Working with partners like Blondel, we want to help transform how loading, unloading, and palletizing are done in France, and create more value for the teams and operations involved," said Junyu Wei, Business Development Manager at XYZ Robotics.
