Media Coverage | XYZ Robotics Implemented RockyOne for Trailer Unloading in a Japanese warehouse
As reported by Robot Digest, XYZ Robotics has successfully deployed RockyOne MMR (Mobile Manipulation Robot) for trailer unloading in a warehouse of Teisoh in April. Founded in 1907, Teisoh is a Japanese 3PL company providing logistics services at warehouses for 500 companies across a wide range of industries.
Among various warehouse operations, trailer unloading is one of the most labor-intensive and challenging tasks. “Unloading heavy boxes with high loads is burdensome and dangerous for workers, and it can be very hot in the summer with concerns about heatstroke; therefore, automating this process with robots is significant,” said Makoto Araki, First Sales Manager of Teisoh Warehouse.
The innovative RockyOne MMR, with autonomous operation and full mobility, helps move 15 kg (35 pounds) boxes and handle 400 cases per hour. Koichiro Higo, Sales Manager of Teisoh Warehouse, highlighted its role in improving warehouse ergonomics, “We decided to implement RockyOne robot because it helps us solve the problem of insufficient manpower, reduce the workload of warehouse personnel, and ensure workplace safety.”
"Thanks to the 3D sensors and AI technology installed at the front of the robot, RockyOne can effectively detect obstacles around it, climb slopes independently and unload boxes of various sizes," said Futoshi Koike, Japanese Sales Manager of XYZ Robotics. RockyOne keeps running in this warehouse.
