Case Study | RockyOne Powers End-to-End Outbound Automation for a Global Food Brand
Upload time: 2025-06-12

A global food brand operates a major production site in East China. Each year, it processes over 80,000 tons of goods. To keep up with such high volume, the company sought for a more efficient outbound logistics solution.

Following the successful deployment of RockyOne Mobile Manipulation Robot, the team saw notable improvements in trailer loading efficiency. Encouraged by the result, they upgraded the system to further optimize the workflow.

Seamless Flow: From Depalletizing to Loading

The enhanced solution integrates a depalletizing robot, a telescopic belt conveyor, a box aligner, and RockyOne.

The depalletizing robot breaks down pallets and places cartons onto the conveyor with the required orientation. As RockyOne drives into the trailer, the telescopic conveyor extends alongside it to keep cartons moving continuously. Between the conveyor and RockyOne, a box-aligner arranges multiple cartons in a row, preparing them for efficient multi-pick loading.

This end-to-end solution ensures a smoother flow from pallets to floor-loaded trailers, maximizing outbound efficiency and improving operational stability.

Consistent Throughput for High-Volume Operations

Designed for high-throughput logistics, the system leverages RockyOne’s multi-picking capability to maintain a steady loading rate of 1,100 cases per hour. This reliable performance enables all-day operations and keeps delivery schedules on track.

Smart Mixed Case Loading

Beyond speed, RockyOne also handles complex loading scenarios with ease. The 17-meter trailers often carry three to four different SKUs per shipment. Powered by XYZ Robotics' intelligent load planning algorithm, the system places cartons of varying sizes by section while maintaining load stability.

Safety and Reliability in Every Operation

Safety is crucial in automated environments. This trailer loading system features a LiDAR-based safety system. It detects nearby personnel and obstacles in real time. If someone enters the red zone, the system instantly triggers an emergency stop, ensuring a secure working area.

Engineered for durability, RockyOne also excels in challenging conditions, such as extreme summer heat. It handles heavy-duty tasks with ease and operates reliably year-round. Warehouse staff can monitor and control the system effortlessly via a wireless pad.

This system upgrade marks a significant leap in the site's outbound logistics. With RockyOne, the company benefits from streamlined workflows, predictable throughput, and a safer working environment.
